Visa and ETA for Sri Lanka

What to sort out before you fly, and what we can help with. Rules and fees change often, so always check the official site before you travel.

Most visitors need an ETA

Most nationalities need an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) or e-visa before they travel. Some countries have had free or simplified visas in recent years. Apply only on the official Department of Immigration and Emigration website: eta.gov.lk.

What you usually need

  • A passport valid for at least six months from your arrival date.
  • A return or onward ticket.
  • Your first hotel address. We send it with your voucher.

Groups

For groups we can help prepare the paperwork. Our October 2026 pilgrimage group of 26 had all visas approved before travel.

Long stays and residence visas

We have helped families with longer-stay visas. Fees depend on the visa type and the number of adults and children. Ask us for current costs.

Not sure?

Send us your passport country on WhatsApp and we will check the current rule for you.
